Acrylic Painting: Working With a Reference Image

This workshop was developed for teachers looking to build confidence and skill when working with acrylics. An excellent introduction to acrylics for beginners, with room to learn, experiment, and grow for seasoned artists.

Build confidence in colour theory and learn to block in your composition. We discuss plenty of techniques, tips, and tricks for building your own creative practice as well as using acrylics in the classroom.

This program is facilitated in such a way that each participant, although working from a reference image, will create a unique painting. Participants will be provided with a variety of reference images to choose from, or are welcome to choose their own. The focus is on learning the skills required to paint independently, rather than follow along step by step instructions. Build confidence in your own creative ability, as well as your ability to help students problem solve and expand their own creative practice.
